SHA2017 was a non profit outdoor Hacker camp taking place in The Netherlands in 2017 on August 4th to 8th.

Recordings of talks can be found here and here.

If you where at SHA2017, you are invited to share your memories here and feedback here.

SHA2017 was the successor of a string of similar events happening every four years. These are GHP, HEU, HIP, HAL, WTH, HAR and OHM.

Similar events are EMF 2016 in the UK, CCC Camp and congress in Germany.
The location was the Scoutinglandgoed in Zeewolde, 55km east of Amsterdam.

The festival was organized for and by volunteers from and around all facets of the international hacker community.

Knowledge sharing, technological advancement, experimentation, connecting with your hacker peers and of course hacking are some of the core values of this event.

Call for Volunteers

SHA2017 is almost here! And to run the event, everybody is more than welcome to help run the event in an angel shift. You get a nice feeling, satisfaction, smiles and a good meal in return. :) Almost no shifts need prior knowledge. So you can hop over to the volunteer desk in the infotent, sign up and start your shift. Most shifts include some short introduction before your shift, and you are off to go!

Still field phoning Anyways

This summer the chaosvermittlung team is joining forces with POC to provide the best (field phone) service yet on an event...

One hackers failed project is another's awesome win!

Every hacker we have ever come across has over 9000 half finished projects, gadgets that seemed cool but were really a fail, odd bits and bobs that might be useful one day, and piles and piles of random and useless^H^H^H^H useful stuff.

Let's be honest, you will never really use most of it, while there are many hackers outside that would love to get a chance to play with that old and dusty SpectraVision Orogonometric Globulazer™, revision B.
